Police searches at home of Peggy O’Hara
Police have today carried out searches at the former home of veteran republican Peggy O’Hara.
Mrs O’Hara, the mother of hunger striker Patsy O’Hara, died last week.
Dozens of people wearing military-style uniform, berets and dark glasses attended her funeral in Derry on Saturday.
Unionist politicians criticised the paramilitary display.
Shots were also fired over Mrs O’Hara’s coffin outside her Templegrove home last Tuesday.
Police yesterday said they had seized a number of items during house searches in Derry in relation to the wake and funeral of Mrs O’Hara.
PSNI officers have also taken part in searches around her former home today.
Police have not yet revealed any details about today’s operation.
