Quasi 50 repubblicani hanni interrotto un incontro del DPP a Derry

L’incontro si svolgeva all’Hotel Da Vinci, quando i contestatori sono entrati con la forza, dopo una colluttazione con il personale alberghiera.

Un altro incontro del District Policing Partnership, svoltosi a luglio sempre a Derry, era stato sospeso dopo l’interruzione con una protesta similare.

Il consigliere dello Sinn Fein e presidente del DPP, Elisha McLaughlin, ha detto che il gruppo non verrà fermato nello svolgimento del proprio lavoro.

“Non sarò bloccata, anzi mi ha dato molto incoraggiamento.

“Ho visto la gran quantità di gente che è stata allontanata oggi, che voleva proseguire nella richiesta di notizie dalla PSNI proprio sugli argomenti per i quali i contestatori hanno interrotto l’incontro”, ha proseguito.

Dissidents disrupt meeting of DPP

Up to 50 dissident republicans have disrupted a meeting of the District Policing Partnership in Londonderry.

The meeting was under way at Da Vinci’s Hotel when the protestors forced their way in after scuffles with hotel staff.

A DPP meeting in Derry in July was called off after it was disrupted by a similar protest.

Sinn Fein councillor and DPP chairperson Elisha McLaughlin said the group will not be intimidated out of doing their work.

“I will not be deterred, and in fact it has given me more and more encouragement.

“I saw the large volume of people who had to be turned away today, who wanted to go in to hold the PSNI to account in relation to the specific things the protesters are protesting about,” she said.
