Si ritiene che l’uomo – di cui il RAAD fa il nome nella dichiarazione rilasciata al Journal – sia attualmente fuori dal paese e lo sarà ancora per parecchio tempo.
Comunque l’organizzazione ha fatto sapere che, qualora tornasse in città, verrà “ucciso a prima vista”.
Un immobile di proprietà dell’uomo sarebbe stato obiettivo di un attacco del RAAD nelle scorse settimane.
L’organizzazione – che ha eseguito una serie di attacchi punitivi contro persone ritenute spacciatori – ha detto al Journal: “Se questo vendite di morte ritorna dalla sua bella vita all’estero, sarà assassinato appena lo vedremo.
“Abbiamo già detto che, se non possiamo colpire lo spacciatore, colpiremo i suoi beni”.
La scorsa notte (l’articolo è del 29 settembre, Ndt), quando contattata dal Derry Journal, la famiglia dell’uomo ha detto di essere a conoscenza del problema e di “fare il possibile per risolvere la situazione”.
Il padre dell’uomo – che vuole mantenere l’anonimato – ha detto: “Sebbene sia duro da accettare, non respingiamo le accuse”.
Visibilmente scosso, ha aggiunto: “Non ho mai saputo in cosa era implicato – questa è un orribile rivelazione. Ha lasciato il paese un anno e mezzo fa e, per quanto ne so, sta vivendo una buona vita. Gli ho chiesto ripetutamente se mi stava dicendo la verità – e penso sia così.
“Adesso sto cercando di risolvere la situazione in modo che mio figlio possa tornare a casa ed essere al sicuro. Infatti, sto cercando di incoraggiare mio figlio ad in contrare le persone che hanno emesso questa minaccia di morte”.

‘RAAD’ death threat
It’s believed that the man – who RAAD named in a statement to the Journal – is currently out of the country and has been for some time.
However, the organisation say that, if he returns to the city, he will be “executed on sight”.
It’s believed that property owned by the individual on the cityside has been targeted by RAAD in recent weeks.
The organisation – which has carried out a series of punishment-style attacks on people they claim are drug dealers – told the ‘Journal’: “If this death dealer resurfaces from living the high life abroad, he will be executed on sight.
“We said before that, if we cannot get to the dealers themselves, we will target their assets.”
Last night, when contacted by the ‘Journal’, the man’s family said they were aware of the allegations and were “making efforts to resolve the situation.”
The man’s father – who didn’t want to be named – said: “While it is hard to accept, we do not refute the allegations.”
Visibly upset, he added: “I never knew what he was involved in – this is a horrible revelation. He left the country a year and a half ago and, as far as I’m aware, he has been living a good life. I’ve asked him repeatedly if he has been telling me the truth – and I believe he is.
“I am now trying to resolve the situation so my son can return home safely. In fact, I am trying to encourage my son to meet with the people who issued this death threat.”
