Ieri hanno ripetutamente sparato alla gamba di un adolescente, per punizione
Questo è il secondo agguato armato avvenuto a Belfast ieri, conclusosi con l’omicidio di Daniel Murray.
L’agguato al diciassettenne è avvenuto a Carlisle Square intorno alle 19:30 di lunedì.
I paramedici e gli agenti della PSNI sono intervenuti sulla scena.
L’adolescente è stato ripetutamente colpito ad una gamba, tuttavia le ferite riportate non mettono in pericolo la sua vita.
Gerry Kelly, parlamentare Sinn Féin di North Belfast, ha condannato l’attacco.
“Negli ultimi mesi due giovani sono stati uccisi a North Belfast in questo tipo di attacchi.
“I responsabili di questi attacchi sono stati respinti dalla gente di North Belfast nell’urna elettorale”.
Ha quindi aggiunto: “La popolazione di North Belfast non permetterà a queste bande armate di riportarci nel passato”.
Nuala McAllister, Alliance Party, ha detto che questo tipo di attacchi devono finire.
“Non c’è mai una giustificazione per questo genere di azioni e io le condanno senza riserva.
“La gente che si fa giudice e giustiziere deve fermarsi – gli abitanti ne hanno avuto abbastanza”.
Anche Nichola Mallo, SDLP, ha chiesto alla comunità di unirsi contro la violenza.
“Negli ultimi mesi gente di North Belfast è stata uccisa e ferita dalle azioni di gente senza volto che si erge a giudice, giuria e boia.
“Questi barbari tribunali del passato non possono diventare una caratteristica del presente”.

North Belfast: Teenager, 17, shot in leg
A seventeen-year-old youth has been shot in the leg in north Belfast.
The shooting, which took place in Carlisle Square, was reported to the police at about 19:30 BST on Monday.
Paramedics and the PSNI attended the scene.
The teenager was shot a number of times in the leg, however his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly has condemned the attack.
“Two young men have already been killed in these type of attacks in North Belfast over recent months.
“The people behind these attacks have been rejected by the people of the North Belfast at the ballot box.”
He added: “The people of North Belfast will not let these armed gangs drag us back to the past.”
Alliance Cllr, Nuala McAllister said such attacks need to stop.
“There is never an excuse for this sort of act and I condemn it unreservedly.
“The people taking the law into their own hands need to stop – local people have had enough.”
Nichola Mallon, SDLP MLA, called for the community to unite against violence.
“Over recent months in North Belfast people have been murdered and maimed by the actions of faceless self appointed judges, jurors and executioners.
“These barbaric kangaroo courts of the past cannot allowed to become a feature of our present.”
