La messa da requiem avrà luogo presso la Chiesa dell’Immacolata Concezione di Beragh. Kerr verrà sepolto nel Drumduff Cemetery.
Il corpo del venticinquenne è ritornato nella casa della famiglia a Beragh ieri sera.
Kerry è stato ucciso dallo scoppio di una bomba posizionata sotto alla sua vettura avvenuto sabato pomeriggio.
La booby trap bomb probabilmente è detonata grazie ad un sistema a mercurio. Era contenuta in un contenitore di plastica grigio.
L’ordigno era collegato anche ad un detonatore a tempo che potrebbe essere stato installato per la sicurezza degli attentatori.
Kerr stava lasciando la sua abitazione per recarsi al lavoro nella stazione di polizia di Enniskillen.
Sua madre, Nuala Kerr, chiede ai giovani cattolici di non farsi spaventare se desiderano arruolarsi nella PSNI.
Il Taoiseach irlandese Enda Kenny dovrebbe partecipare al funerale.
Parlando ieri sera alla trasmissione The Frontline su Rté, il ministro della Giustizia irlandese Alan Shatter ha detto che le autorità di entrambi i lati del confine non dovrebbero lasciare nulla di intentato nella ricerca dei responsabili.
I repubblicani sono indicati come i responsabili dell’attacco, ma nessun gruppo ha ancora rivendicato l’azione.
L’omicidio non deve allontanare i cattolici dall’arruolarsi
Il vescovo cattolico di Derry, Seamus Hegarty, ha detto che l’omicidio di Kerr “non può” e “non deve” allontanare la gente dall’entrare nella PSNI.
Ha chiesto alla gente che sta valutando una carriera nella forza di polizia e a coloro che ne sono già membri “di seguire i propri sogni”.
Per il vescovo Hegarty è “bello sapere” che ci sono ancora persone nella comunità pronte a prendere “decisioni coraggiose ed eroiche”.
Ha anche accolto molto positivamente le notizie secondo cui il primo ministro nordirlandese Peter Robinson sarà presente al funerale di Ronan Kerr.

Ronan Kerr funeral to take place tomorrow
Preparations have been finalised for the funeral of PSNI constable Ronan Kerr, who was killed by a car bomb in Tyrone on Saturday.
The requiem mass will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Beragh, with burial afterwards in Drumduff Cemetery.
The body of the 25-year-old was returned to his family home in Beragh last night.
Mr Kerr was killed by a car bomb in Omagh in Co Tyrone on Saturday.
The under-car device was probably detonated using a mercury tilt switch and was housed in a grey plastic container.
The device also contained a timer mechanism that may been used for the safety of the bombers.
Mr Kerr was leaving his home to start work at Enniskillen police station in Co Fermanagh when he was killed.
His mother Nuala Kerr urged other young Catholics not to be deterred from joining the PSNI.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny is due to attend the funeral service.
Speaking on RTÉ’s The Frontline last night, Minister for Justice Alan Shatter said the authorities on both sides of the border would leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of those responsible.
Dissident republicans have been blamed for the attack, but no armed group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
Murder ‘should not’ deter Catholics from joing PSNI
Catholic Bishop of Derry Dr Seamus Hegarty has said the murder of Mr Kerr ‘can not’ and ‘should not’ deter people from entering the PSNI.
He urged people considering a career with the police force and those who are already members ‘to follow their dreams’.
Bishop Hegarty said it was ‘great to know’ there were still people in the community prepared to make ‘heroic and courageous’ decisions.
He also described as very significant and very welcome news that First Minister Peter Robinson would be attending tomorrow’s funeral.
