Due aggressioni UDA a Ballymoney

MAN SHOT IN ARM IN PARAMILITARY ATTACK

THE UDA is being blamed for shooting a man in Co Antrim.

UDA | Ulster Defence AssociationPolice say the victim was approached by two men at St James Park, Ballymoney, on Sunday night around 8.30 pm.

They fired a number of shots at him and he was struck on the arm but his injuries are not said to be life threatening.

In a follow up investigation, police closed the Portrush Road, Coleraine Road and Charles Street.

Detectives in north Antrim have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.

A source in the town said: “The UDA have been flexing their muscles in the town recently.

“This was the second attack carried out by the UDA in the space of two days.”

On Friday night, detectives launched an investigation over a suspected paramilitary-style attack in Ballymoney.

A man was admitted to hospital after he was beaten with a metal pipe.

Police say two men wearing balaclavas and dark clothing forced their way into a flat in the Park View area of Ballymoney on Friday night.

They then beat the man about the body with their fists and a metal pipe.

The man was later treated in hospital for severe bruising.
