Due uomini accusati per i disordini alla parata per la Battaglia della Somme

Due uomini sono stati accusati per reati di ordine pubblicno in relazione agli scontri avvenuti a East Belfast alla fine dell’annuale parata orangista per la Battaglia della Somme

Le violenze sono state descritte come “spontanee” dalla polizia. Sono esplose quando la folla si è radunata in Albertbridge Road e Castlereagh Street lo scorso venerdì sera.

Sei agenti di polizia sono stati feriti e sette persone sono state arrestate durante i disordini.

I due uomini, di 23 e 24 anni, compariranno alla Belfast Magistrates Court nel mese di luglio.

Come di prassi, le accuse saranno riviste dal Pubblico Ministero.

A inizio settimana, un uomo di 28 anni era stato fermato per i disordini e rilasciato in seguito.

Altri tre uomini – di 17, 35 e 47 anni – sono stati accusati di reati legati all’ordine pubblico e sono comparsi in aula lunedì.

Pair charged over parade trouble

Two men have been charged with public order offences after trouble flared at the end of the annual Battle of the Somme Orange Order parade in east Belfast last week.

Violence described by police as “spontaneous” erupted when crowds gathered in the Albertbridge Road and Castlereagh Street areas late on Friday night.

Six officers were injured and seven people were arrested during the disorder.

The two men, aged 23 and 34, are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court later this month.

As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Earlier this week, a 28-year-old man was cautioned for disorderly behaviour and later released.

Three men – aged 17, 35 and 47 – were charged with public order offences and appeared in court in Belfast on Monday.
