Il consigliere dello Sinn Féin Sean McGlinchey è stato arrestato dalla polizia a Dungiven in collegamento con la loro indagine sulle attività paramilitari nell’area
L’abitazione del consigliere Sean McGlinchey attualmente viene perquisita dalla PSNI e l’uomo è stato trasferito alla stazione di polizia di Antrim per essere interrogato all’interno della Serious Crime Suite.
Il suo arresto è il settimo compiuto dalla polizia negli ultimi giorni, nel corso delle indagini sulle attività paramilitari compiute nella zona di Dungiven.
Quattro dei cinque uomini arrestati in precedenza sono stati rilasciati incondizionatamente, mentre per uno di loro verrà passato un fascicolo alla Procura.
L’Ispettrice Capo Una Jennings, del Serious Crime Branch, ha detto: “Stiamo indagando su varie forme di attività paramilitare nella zona di Dungiven, perlopiù avvenute nell’arco degli ultimi quattro anni.Queste attività comprendono incidenti con armi da fuoco e minacce”.

Second Sinn Fein Colr. arrested in Dungiven paramilitary probe
Sinn Fein councillor Sean McGlinchey has been arrested by police in Dungiven in connection with their investigation into paramilitary activity in the area.
Colr. Sean McGlinchey’s house in Dungiven is currently being raided and he has been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
His arrest is the seventh by police investigating paramilitary activity in the Dungiven area in recent days.
Four of five men previously arrested by police in the investigation have been released unconditionally, while one man has been reported to the PPS.
Detective Chief Inspector Una Jennings, from Serious Crime Branch, said: “We are investigating various forms of paramilitary activity in the Dungiven area, predominantly over the last four years. These include shooting incidents and threats.”
