Il ventitreenne è stato colpito a caviglia e ginocchio durante un attacco punitivo avvenuto poco fuori Belfast.
È stato preso di mira da un gruppo di uomini ad un take-away nella zona di Juniper a Dunmurry intorno alle 21:45 di martedì sera.
La vittima è stata trascinata fuori dal ristorante prima di essere trascinato in un terreno sul retro di Glasvey Drive, dove altri due uomini erano in attesa.
Gli hanno sparato al ginocchio e alla caviglia della gamba sinistra, prima di trasportarlo in ospedale.
La polizia chiede a chiunque abbia informazioni, di contattare gli investigatori.
Uno degli aggressori della vittima – che lo ha trascinato fuori dal take-away – sarebbe di corporatura snella, con un accento locale e indossava una sciarpa nera sul viso, un cappello di lana nero, giacca nera e jeans neri.
Man shot in the knee and ankle in paramilitary-style attack in Belfast
A 23-year-old man has been shot in the knee and ankle during a punishment-style attack outside Belfast.
He was targeted by a gang of men at a takeaway in the Juniper area of Dunmurry at around 9.45pm on Tuesday evening.
The victim was dragged from the restaurant before being walked to open ground at the rear of Glasvey Drive, where two other men were waiting.
There, he was shot in his left knee and ankle, before being taken to hospital.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
One of the victim’s attackers – who dragged him from the takeaway – is said to be of slim build, with a local accent and wearing a black scarf over his face, a black beanie hat, black jacket and black jeans.
