Un adolescente è stato accusato per gli attacchi contro la polizia avvenuti a East Belfast
Domenica sera la polizia è stata aggredita nella zona di St Matthew’s Court con lancio di bombe di vernice e blocchi di cemento.
Gli oggetti non hanno colpito gli agenti PSNI e nessuno è rimasto ferito nel corso dell’incidente.
In seguito un sedicenne è stato arrestato nella zona di Mountforde Court.
Il giovane è accusato di danneggiamento ed è comparso ieri in tribunale.
La polizia ha confermato di aver sequestrato 350 bottiglie e sei barattoli di vernice durante il fine settimana.
La scorsa settimana la polizia ha dovuto confrontarsi con ripetuti disordini scoppiati a East Belfast, che hanno provocato il ferimento di un adolescente e di quattro agenti PSNI.
David Moore, Ispettore Capo e comandante d’area per East Belfast, ha dichiarato: “Una squadra dedicata sta analizzando le riprese delle telecamere della zona per i giorni di disordini e se ci saranno identificazioni, procederemo con gli arresti.
“Durante il fine settimana la situazione è stata relativamente calma.
“Sono presenti più agenti nella zona, ma questo ha un costo per le altre aree da pattugliare”.

Teen charged over police attack
A teenager has been charged in connection with an attack on police in east Belfast.
Police were attacked with a paint bomb and masonry in the St Matthew’s Court area on Sunday evening.
The objects were thrown but did not hit police and there were no reports of injuries.
A 16-year-old was later arrested in the Mountforde Court area.
He was charged with criminal damage and disorderly behaviour and due in court on Monday.
Over the weekend police said they seized over 350 glass bottles and six tins of paint.
During the past week, police dealt with serious disorder in east Belfast which left a teenager and four police officers injured.
Chief Inspector David Moore, area commander for east Belfast added: “A dedicated team is trawling CCTV footage from the various nights of disorder and where identifications are made, these will be followed by arrests.
“I am pleased to say that it was relatively calm over the weekend.
“Additional police were in the area, which has had an impact – but obviously this is at a cost to other areas of policing.”
