Anche lunedì sera ci sono state piccole “sacche di disordini” a East Belfast. Lo conferma la polizia intervenuta sul posto. Un adolescente è stato ferito alla testa
Jordan Else, 15 anni, è stato ferito alla testa mentre si trovava nella zona di Albertbridge Road, ma ancora non è chiaro come sia avvenuto il ferimento.
Suo padre ha detto a Utv che il ragazzo, che vive in Inghilterra, stava tornando a casa da un fast food insieme ad amici, quando è stato affrontato da una banda.
“Gli hanno dato otto punti sulla nuca, ha una frattura alla parte anteriore della testa ed una sul retro”, ha affermato.
“È ancora molto confuso. Lo terranno in osservazione ancora per qualche giorno”.
Fuochi d’artificio e altro materiale è stato lanciato contro gli agenti di polizia, che hanno eseguito un arresto. Ci sono stati due feriti – un agente PSNI ed un giovane.
In Templemore Avenue sono state lanciate alcune bottiglie molotov contro i poliziotti ma non sono esplose.
Una dichiarazione rilasciata della PSNI recita: “In diversi momenti, dopo le 19, folle crescenti di giovani si sono radunate in Castlereagh Street, Woodstock Link, Albertbridge Road e Templemore Avenue”.
Un adolescente è stato trasportato in ospedale con ferite alla testa.
“Al momento non sappiamo come è rimasto ferito. Possiamo affermare che è accaduto nella zona di Albertbridge Road poco dopo le 19.
“La polizia ha anche ricevuto notizie di lanci di pietre, bottiglie e altri oggetti attraverso i due lati dell’interfaccia, provocando danni alle case da entrambi i lati. Un veicolo in Bryson Street è stato imbrattato da una bomba di vernice”.
Un agente della PSNI è stato ferito ad un braccio e un uomo è stato arrestato per reati di disturbo in prossimità di Paxton Street.
L’Ispettore capo David Moore ha detto: “Gli agenti di polizia sono stati attaccati ancora una volta ieri sera e alcune abitazioni sono state danneggiate. Dobbiamo uscire dalla logica che i disordini sono un passatempo serale. La gente di questa zona, indipendentemente dalla comunità di appartenenza, non li vogliono.
“La polizia ha lavorato a stretto contatto con i rappresentanti della comunità per trovare soluzioni praticabili e continueremo a farlo”.

È la seconda sera consecutiva in cui ci sono stati disordini a East Belfast.
Domenica scorsa un agente è stato leggermente ferito quando circa 60 giovani hanno attaccato la polizia. Molti oggetti tra cui mattoni, sassi e bottiglie sono stati gettati verso gli agenti della PSNI.
Naomi Long, parlamentare di Alliance Party, ha detto che a questa violenza non può essere permesso di continuare.
“La stragrande maggioranza delle persone che vivono nelle vicinanze non vogliono vedere episodi come questi, che non hanno altro scopo che disturbare i residenti e le imprese. Questi tipo di incidenti portano conseguenze che cambieranno la vita dei giovani coinvolti.
“La polizia arresterà chiunque sia sospettato di comportamenti illegali e vorrei di nuovo invitare i genitori a verificare dove si trovano i loro figli, specialmente quando le scuole sono chiuse”, ha aggiunto.
“Questa violenza serve solo a mettere in cattiva luce East Belfast”.

Teen injured amid east Belfast disorder
A teenager is being treated in hospital for a head injury after police dealt with “pockets of disorder” in parts of east Belfast on Monday night.
Jordan Else, who is 15, was injured in the Albertbridge Road area just after 7pm but it is not yet known how he sustained the injury.
His father told UTV the teen, who lives in England, was walking home from a fast-food restaurant with friends when he was jumped by a gang.
“He has eight stitches in the back of his head, a fracture to the front of his skull and a fracture to the back of his skull,” he said.
“He’s still very concussed. They’re going to keep him under observation for the next couple of days.”
A number of missiles and fireworks were thrown at police. One arrest was made and two people – a PSNI officer and a teenage boy – were injured.
In Templemore Avenue, a number of petrol bombs were thrown at officers, however, police said that they failed to ignite properly and no damage was caused.
A PSNI statement said: “At various times from around 7pm onwards crowds of youths gathered in Castlereagh Street, Woodstock Link, Albertbridge Road and Templemore Avenue.”
A teenage boy was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury.
“At this time it is not known how he sustained the injury however it is believed to have occurred in the Albertbridge Road area shortly after 7pm.
“Police also received reports of stones, bottles and other missiles being thrown in both directions across the fences at the interface causing some damage to homes on both sides and a vehicle in Bryson Street was hit with a paint bomb.”
One PSNI officer received an injury to his arm and one man was arrested for disorder offences in the vicinity of Paxton Street.
Chief Inspector David Moore said: “Police officers came under attack yet again last night and local homes have been damaged. We need to get away from disorder becoming a nightly event. People in this area, no matter what community they come from, do not want it.
“Police have been working closely with community reps to find workable solutions and we will continue to do so.”

It is the second night in a row there has been trouble in the east of the city.
On Sunday, an officer was hurt on Sunday when around 60 young people attacked police in east Belfast. A range of missiles including bricks, blocks and bottles were thrown at the officers.
Alliance Party MP Naomi Long said the on-going violence could not be allowed to continue.
“The vast majority of people living nearby do not want to see incidents such as these and they serve no purpose other than disturbing residents and businesses. They have life-changing consequences for the young people involved.
“Police will arrest anyone suspected of illegal behaviour and I would again urge parents to ensure they know where their children are each evening, particularly when schools are on a break,” she added.
“This violence only serves to portray East Belfast in a negative light and such behaviour has no place in our community.”
