Tre bottiglie molotov sono state lanciate contro una vettura della polizia in pattugliamento a East Belfast
Poco dopo le 20 di giovedì sera ignoti hanno lanciato tre bottiglie molotov contro una vettura della polizia nella zona di St Patrick Walk a East Belfast.
Non ci sono stati feriti né danni alla macchina.
La polizia ha prelevato alcuni oggetti per ulteriori analisi.
L’Ispettore Capo David Moore ha parlato di azione “scellerata”.
Ha spiegato: “St Patrick Walk è un’area residenziale nel cuore della comunità. La gente vive qui. I bambini giocano in quest’area.
“La polizia farà di tutto per identificare i responsabili. Sono sollevato perché non ci sono stati danni ma, ancora più importante, che nessuno è rimasto ferito.
“Mi appello a chiunque abbia notato attività sospette o sia a conoscenza di informazioni sull’incidente di rivolgersi alla polizia”.
Petrol bombs thrown at police vehicle in east Belfast
Three petrol bombs have been a thrown at a police vehicle in east Belfast.
Just after 8 pm on Thursday night three petrol bombs were thrown at a police vehicle in the St Patricks Walk area.
There were no reports of any injuries or damage to the vehicle.
A number of items were seized for examination.
Chief Inspector David Moore said it was “mindless”.
He said: “St Patricks Walk is very obviously a residential area in the heart of a community. People live there and children play there.
“Throwing a petrol bomb for any reason is mindless and those responsible simply need to understand that they are lethal.
“Police will be doing all that they can to identify those responsible. I am relieved that there was no damage caused but more importantly that someone was not hurt.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information about the incident to contact Police at Strand Town on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
