Empey: Tristezza per la morte di un collega di partito
Sadness over death of Party Member
Leader of the Ulster Unionist Party Sir Reg Empey has expressed his sadness following the death of Party Member Geoff Kerr in Templepatrick.“It was with great sadness that I learnt of the death of Geoff Kerr, a party member from Templepatrick at his home last night following a fatal shooting. At this truly sad time I wish to extend my most sincere sympathy to his family – to his wife Sally and to his four sons who will have been left devastated by the loss of a husband and father. My thoughts and prayers are with them.”
“Although I did not know Geoff personally I understand he only joined the party last year and on Saturday attended our AGM. Since this morning I have spoken to Party colleagues and Geoff has been described as a gentleman, a family man and as a man with boundless energy.”
“At this time I would ask that anyone with information in relation to the incident to come forward to police. Those responsible for this terrible killing must be brought to justice.”
Ulster Unionist Councillor for Antrim, Danny Kinahin also condemned the shooting and reiterated Sir Reg’s call for members of the public to come forward.
