Ex soldati condannano la minaccia proveniente da “Real UVF”

Gli ex soldati dell’Ulster Defence Regiment residenti nel mid-lster, attualmente minacciati di morte dai repubblicani, hanno chiesto al gruppo che si fa chiamare Real UVF di ritirare le loro minacce contro i repubblicani.

In una lettera inviata al Mid-Ulster Mail, insieme ad un proiettile, il gruppo ha promesso di “rispondere alle minacce dell’IRA contro gli ex soldati dell’UDR”.

Il consigliere UUP Trevor Wilson ha detto: “GLi ex soldati UDR mi hanno detto che la minaccia posta questa settimana dalla Real UVF dovrebbe essere ritirata immediatamente.

“Hanno proseguito dicendo che le minacce non hanno alcun proposito utile e le condannano pienamente perché non desiderano vedere altri soffrire come stanno facendo adesso loro e le loro famiglie”.

Lo scorso mese il News letter acveva rivelato che oltre 15 membri del disciolto Ulster Defence Regiment abitanti a Cookstown e a Magherafelt hanno ricevuto notifica dalla polizia che sono sotto minaccia di morte proveniente dai repubblicani.

Ex-soldiers condemn ‘Real UVF’ threat

FORMER UDR soldiers who are living under death threat from dissident republicans in the mid-Ulster area have called for a group calling itself the Real UVF to withdraw their threat against republicans.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the so-called Real UVF was prepared to target republicans if former UDR soldiers are attacked.

In a letter sent to the Mid-Ulster Mail, along with a bullet, the group vowed to “respond to IRA threats upon ex-UDR”.

UUP councillor Trevor Wilson said: “The former UDR soldiers have told me that the threat issued this week by the Real UVF should be withdrawn immediately.

“They went on to say that the threat serves no useful purpose and they totally condemn it as they do not wish to see others suffering in the same way their own families are now suffering.”

Last month, the News Letter revealed that more than 15 members of the now-disbanded UDR who live in the Cookstown and Magherafelt areas have received notification from the police that they are under death threat from dissident republicans.
