Una famiglia di polacchi residente nel quartiere lealista di Mount Vernon, North Belfast, è stata costretta la lasciare la propria abitazione a causa degli attacchi subiti recentemente
Nell’ultimo attacco avvenuto alle prime ore di lunedì, sono stati lanciati mattoni contro le finestre della loro casa di Mount Vernon.
La famiglia, composta da una bambina di 5 anni, un bimbo di 9 oltre al padre e alla convivente, si trovavano da parenti.
L’attacco giunge pochi dopo che la loro autovettura è stata incendiata. L’auto sostituiva una precedente vettura che era stata attaccata la settimana prima.
La famiglia descrive come “animali” i responsabili degli attacchi.
Imelia Farbiszewska ha detto: “Non abbiamo idea del motivo per cui sta avvenendo tutto questo. Tutti qui intorno, tutti i nostri vicini, sono estremamente amichevoli.
“Non ci sono parole per descrivere chi sta facendo questo – sono animali”.
Il padre, Marcin Zyczko, ha aggiunto: “Una volta è la macchina, poi la casa… non voglio pensare a cosa potrebbe accadere dopo.
“Non ci sentiamo al sicuro in questa casa. Vado al lavoro e sono preoccupato per quello che potrebbe succedere”.
Imelia interviene: “Non vogliamo più vivere qui.
“Non possiamo portare i bambini qui e non possiamo dormire in questa casa.
“È possibile che ci accada qualcosa di terribile”.
La famiglia ha riferito a UTV di non essere certa della motivazione razzista dietro agli attacchi.
La polizia sta proseguendo con le indagini.

Attacks force family from Belfast home
A north Belfast Polish family have said they are being forced out of their north Belfast home after a number of attacks in recent weeks.
In the latest incident bricks were thrown through the windows of the family’s Mount Vernon home in the early hours of Monday morning.
The nine-year-old boy was not in the room as he and his five-year-old sister, their father and his girlfriend were staying with relatives.
The attack comes just days after their car was set on fire. That vehicle replaced another car which was also attacked a week earlier.
The family said the people behind the attacks were “animals”.
Imelia Farbiszewska said: “We have no idea why this is happening. Everyone around us, all our neighbours, are really friendly.
“There is no words to describe those who are doing this – they are animals.”
The children’s father Marcin Zyczko added: “It’s the car one time, then the house, I don’t want to think about what could be next.
“We don’t feel safe in this house. I go to work and just worry about what could happen.”
Imelia added: “We just don’t want to live here anymore.
“We can’t bring the children back and we can’t sleep in this house.
“It’s really possible something bad could happen to us.”
The family told UTV they could not be certain if a racist element was behind the attacks.
Police said they are still investigating a possible motive and have appealed for information.
