Finisce la protesta dei prigionieri repubblicani a Portlaoise

E’ con un senso di sollievo che l’IRPWA può annunciare che oggi i prigionieri repubblicani nel braccio E3 di Portlaoise hanno terminato la loro No Wash/Dirty Protest contro la negazione, politicamente motivata, dei permessi di rilascio temporanei (Termporary Release) imposta dal Ministero di Giustizia del Free State (la Repubblica d’Irlanda, NdT). I prigionieri coinvolti nella protesta hanno deciso di interromperla quando ad alcuni prigionieri repubblicani, cui prima era stato negato il rilascio temporaneo, è stato concesso di tornare a casa temporaneamente.
L’IRPWA dà un cauto benvenuto a questo cambiamento di rotta deciso dal Ministero della Giustizia e dall’Irish Prison Service e speriamo che venga esteso a tutti i prigionieri repubblicani che hanno le caratteristiche per richiedere il rilascio temporaneo e non sia utilizzato arbitrariamente come strumento di punizione o premio.
It is with a sense of relief that the IRPWA can announce that as of today the Republican prisoners E3 Portlaoise have ended their no wash/dirty protest against the politically motivated denial of Temporary Release by the Free State Department of Justice. The protesting prisoners decided to end their protest when Republican prisoners who had previously been denied TR had recently had it granted.
The IRPWA give this change of heart by the Department of Justice and the Irish Prisons Service a cautious welcome and we hope that it is extended to all Republicans prisoners who qualify for Temporary Release and not used as a tool to reward or punish prisoners arbitrarily.
