Hoax device left at Orange hall
THERE was traffc chaos in Belfast yesterday afternoon after a hoax device was left at the
railings of an Orange hall.
The Westlink was closed in both directions for several hours as army technical offcers examined the device at the building in Clifton Street – in the north of the city.
The object was later declared a deliberate hoax and the Westlink reopened.
A police spokesman said that shortly before 4pm, two youths were seen placing the device on railings at the hall before making off on foot.
Earlier yesterday, the M2 motorway was also closed after a suspicious object was found at Finlay Park in Newtownabbey.
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
