Man shot in north Belfast
A man was shot in the leg on Monday night in north Belfast.
The 23-year-old was allegedly bundled into a small red van on Ardoyne Avenue by two masked men and driven to Highbury Gardens.
His attackers are believed to have escaped along Berwick Road.
North Belfast Alliance Representative Gerry Lynch has expressed his disgust at the shooting.
Gerry Lynch said: “Attacks of this nature are a cancer on our society. Northern Ireland is being unchained from the shackles of violence and those who carry out violent acts must be brought to justice.
“Our society is moving forward and I cannot understand the mindset of those who are involved in sickening attacks like this.
“Anyone who can help police with their enquiries should contact them immediately.”
