Un uomo sulla quarantina è stato trasferito in ospedale dopo essere stato ferito alle gambe
Alcuni uomini sono penetrati nella casa situata nell’area di Drummond Road a Cullyhanna e hanno sparato ad entrambe le gambe dell’uomo.
L’aggressione è avvenuta alle 19:20 di martedì.
L’uomo è stato trasportato di urgenza in ospedale. Le sue ferite, dice la polizia, “non mettono in pericolo la sua vita”.
Nella casa c’erano anche altre persone, che non sono state aggredite. Adesso sono molto scosse per quanto accaduto.
Il consigliere dello Sinn Féin Colman Burns ha condannato il ferimento.
“Condanno senza riserve questo incidente in cui hanno sparato ad un uomo e lo hanno colpito alla testa mentre si trovava nella propria abitazione.
“I responsabili devono spiegare il motivo per l’aggressione, dichiarando cosa intendono ottenere.
“La comunità nel South Armagh è sconvolta per l’accaduto e chiedo a chiunque abbia informazioni di passarle alle autorità”.
La polizia di Newry e Mourne è all’opera.

Man injured in Co Armagh shooting
A man, aged in his 40s, has been taken to hospital after he was shot by gunmen in Co Armagh.
A number of men entered a house in the Drummond Road area of Cullyhanna and shot the man in both legs at around 7.20pm on Tuesday.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which police described as “not life-threatening”.
A number of people in the house at the time were uninjured, but left shaken by the incident.
Sinn Féin councillor Colman Burns has condemned the shooting.
He said: “I condemn unreservedly this incident during which a man was shot and hit over the head in an attack which occurred in his own home.
“Those responsible for this attack must outline their rationale for doing this and what they hoped to achieve.
“The community in south Armagh is appalled at this incident and I would urge anyone with information to present it to the authorities.”
Newry and Mourne police are investigating and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
