L’esposizione di ingerenza politica diretta della polizia britannica attraverso una serie di false accuse, che sono state respinte, contro Gary Donnelly ci dimostra che la polizia politica non è andata via. Anzi la sua azione si è intensificata.
Gary Donnelly è stato arrestato dopo la commemorazione di Pasqua a Derry nel 2012 e contro di lui furono elevate pretestuose accuse.
Donnelly è continuamente molestato, intimidito e picchiato e tali incidenti di solito si concludono con queste false accuse, nella piena consapevolezza che non ci sono prove a sostegno.
Vanno a processo e gli impongono condizioni di rilascio obbligandolo a non svolgere attività politica e questo viene trascinato per molti mesi, in modo che l’effetto cumulativo gli impedisca di impegnarsi in politica per molti anni.
È chiaro che l’ordine del giorno è quello di limitare il suo lavoro in politica e non essendoci prova per le accuse, quando sono presentate in tribunale decadono.
Il presidente nazionale del 32 CSM, Francis Mackey, ha dichiarato: “Il 32 County Sovereignty Movement non sarà scoraggiato da questi attacchi palesi contro i nostri membri e contro le nostre politiche. È evidente da questi attacchi che la nostra posizione è basata sulle analisi corrette sulla violazione della sovranità nazionale irlandese.
“La nostra posizione non si adatta comodamente alle istituzioni britanniche e alle loro interferenze illegali negli affari irlandesi, e come fecero le generazioni prima di noi, l’unica risposta è quella di sorvegliare politicamente.
“Che si tratti di RIC, RUC o PSNI, i risultati sono sempre gli stessi.
“Gli attacchi contro i nostri membri sono un attacco a tutti i repubblicani e devono essere esposti pubblicamente. Il caso di Gary Donnelly incarna la definizione di polizia politica perché tali attacchi stanno effettivamente minando la legittimità della posizione repubblicana”, ha concluso Mackey.

The exposure of direct political interference by British policing through a range of spurious charges being dropped against Derry man Gary Donnelly tells us political policing hasn’t went away. Indeed it is intensified.
Gary Donnelly was arrested following the Easter Commemoration in Derry in 2012 and spurious charges were brought against him.
He is continuously harassed, intimidated and beaten and such incidents usually conclude with these trumped up charges in the full knowledge there is no evidence to substantiate them.
They go through a process with conditions applied to him that he cannot carry out political work and this is dragged out for months so that the accumulative effect he cannot do any political activity for years.
It is clear the agenda is to curtail his political work as there is no substance to the charges and when they get to court they are dropped.
Mr Francis Mackey National Chairman said, “The 32 County Sovereignty Movement will not be deterred by these blatant attacks on our members and on our policies. It is evident by these attacks that our position is based on the correct analysis on the violation of Irish National Sovereignty.
Our position doesn’t fit comfortably with British institutions and their illegal interference in Irish affairs and like generations before us the only answer is to politically police it.
It doesn’t matter if it was the RIC, RUC or PSNI the results are the same.
Attacks on our members are an attack on all republicans and must be exposed. The Gary Donnelly case epitomises political policing as such attacks are effectively attacking the legitimacy of the republican position” concluded Mr Mackey.
