Gary Donnelly non stringe la mano a McGuinness

Il repubblicano di Derry si è rifiutato di stringere la mano con il vice primo ministro Martin McGuinness, incontrato all’esterno di un seggio elettorale a Derry

Il politico dello Sinn Fein avrebbe teso la mano verso Gary Donnelly, membro del 32 County Sovereignty Movement che si presenta come candidato per il consiglio comunale.

Donnelly ha riferito a BBC che sarebbe stato felice di stringere la mano a qualsiasi altro membro dello Sinn Fein, però “non si fida di Martin McGuinness”.

McGuinness ha risposto che si tratta solo di problemi di Donnelly.

“E’ una sua scelta”, ha affermato McGuinness.

“E’ proprio come per la gente che millanta di rappresentare e che teme di entrare in una stanza e discutere della follia delle loro azioni con persone come me e Gerry Adams,” ha aggiunto.

A dissident republican refused to shake hands with Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness outside a polling station in Londonderry.

The Sinn Fein politician offered to shake hands with Gary Donnelly, who is standing as a councillor in the city.

Mr Donnelly told the BBC that he was happy to shake hands with other members of Sinn Fein but that he “did not trust Mr McGuinness”.

Mr McGuiness said that it was a matter for Mr Donnelly.

“It’s his choice, Mr McGuiness said.

“Just like it is for the people he purports to represent who are afraid to come into a room and discuss the folly of their actions with people like me and Gerry Adams,” he added.
