Il parlamentare di Louth era a Washington per partecipare all’annuale festa di San Patrizio presso la Casa Bianca
Il nome non era nella lista degli ospiti. Per questo al leader dello Sinn Féin Gerry Adams è stato vietato l’accesso alla Casa Bianca.
Il parlamentare, insieme ad alcuni colleghi di partito, si trova a Washington per partecipare ai festeggiamenti della comunità irlandese in America.
Ma dopo aver atteso fuori dalla Casa Bianca per un’ora e mezza, ha deciso di “andare ad un’altra festa”.
Le autorità statunitensi devono ancora spiegare perché Adams, è stato riferito, è stato diviso dalla collega Mary-Lou McDonald.
Una fonte dello Sinn Féin ha detto: “Sembra che sia stato un errore dell’amministrazione. Gerry aveva ricevuto un invito.
“Sembra che le autorità non avessero il numero corrispondente nei loro registri quando il biglietto è stato scansionato.
“Dopo aver atteso circa 90 minuti ha deciso di andarsene e recarsi ad un’altra festa”.
Il Vice Primo Ministro dell’Irlanda del Nord e collega di partito di Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness, è entrato senza ostacoli alla festa.

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams was refused entrance to the White House because his name was not on the guestlist.
The Louth TD was in Washington on Tuesday for the annual St Patrick’s Day reception.
But after waiting outside for an hour and a half he decided to go to “another party.”
The US authorities have yet to explain why Mr Adams was reportedly pulled aside from colleague Mary Lou McDonald.
A Sinn Fein source said: “It seems to have been an administration error. Gerry had an invite.
“It appears that authorities had no corresponding number in their books when his ticket was scanned.
“After waiting around 90 minutes for access he decided to leave and go to another party.”
It’s understood that Dep Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland Martin McGuinness entered the function unhindered.
