Gerry McGeough, parlando su Radio Free Eireann, ha dichiarato oggi che la dirigenza dello Sinn Fein è un “parassita” che sostiene la “feccia” britannica in Irlanda
Gerry McGeough è sotto processo a Belfast, accusato del tentato omicidio di un poliziotto part-time nel 1981. McGeough viene giudicato da una Diplock court, il tribunale senza giuria istituito per condurre velocemente i repubblicani in carcere.
McGeough ha parlato di un’atmosfera in aula di tipo orangista, anti-irlandese e anti-cattolica. Nessuna prova scientifica è stata portata. Solo voci raccolte da persone morte da anni.
Il processo è stato fermato lo scorso mercoledì, dopo che gli avvocati della difesa hanno ottenuto un ordinanza per costringere il Northern Ireland Office (NIO) a produrre informazioni finora non erano state consegnate.
Per McGeough i leader dello Sinn Fein sono inetti e dovrebbero negoziare un’amnistia completa per tutti. Secondo il repubblicano gli avvocati dell’accusa hanno messo lui e la famiglia in subbuglio e c’è stata alcuna parola da parte della dirigenza shinner per esprimere sdegno.
Ha riferito come da alcuni fuggitivi sia stata concessa l’immunità perché leali allo Sinn Fein. Dopo la pubblicazione della storia di Suzanne Breen sul Sunday Tribune c’è stata un’immediata smentita di tale accordo, ma, dice McGeough, il processo è stato interrotto perché il NIO si rifiuta di fornire informazioni sensibili alla difesa.
McGeough ha detto che si tratta di un processo spettacolo ed di un tentativo di zittirlo. Afferma che lo Sinn Fein ha fatto un accordo secondo cui può essere processato, mentre altri ricevono la grazia reale. Per McGeough la dirigenza dello Sinn Fein è composta di “parassiti” che sostengono la “feccia” britannica in Irlanda.

Sinn Fein leadership denounced as “vermin” by Gerry McGeough
Gerry McGeough, speaking on WBAI’s Radio Free Eireann, today denounced the leadership of Sinn Fein as “vermin” who are supporting British “scum” in Ireland.
Gerry McGeough is on trial in Belfast charged with attempted murder of a part-time policeman back in 1981. McGeough said he is being tried in a Diplock, non-jury court which were set up to railroad republicans into prison.
He said there was an Orange Lodge, anti-Irish, anti-Catholic atmosphere in the courtroom. No forensics were being offered as evidence just hear-say from people who have been dead for years.
The trial was halted last Wednesday after the defence lawyers obtained a summons to get the N.I.O. to produce information which heretofore they have not.
McGeough said he is being subjected to on-going character assassination. He said the Sinn Fein leaders are inept and should have negotiated a blanket amnesty for all. He said the prosecution has placed him and his family in turmoil and that there has not been one word from the Sinn Fein leadership expressing the outrage of the people.
He said that some on-the-runs have been given immunity because they are loyal to Sinn Fein. After the Sunday Tribune story by Suzanne Breen there was an immediate denial of any such deal, but, said McGeough, the trial has now been halted because the N.I.O. is refusing to give sensitive information to the defense.
McGeough said the trial is a show trial and an attempt to silence him. He said that Sinn Fein made a deal so that he can be prosecuted while others receive a royal pardon. He said that the Sinn Fein leadership were “vermin’ who support British “scum” in Ireland.
