Un ragazzo è annegato nel fiume Faughan mentre cercava di sfuggire alla polizia
La polizia riferisce che il giovane, insieme ad un altro ragazzo, è fuggito quando gli agenti sono arrivati a controllare dei disordini in Glenshane Road.
Il ragazzo si è lanciato nel fiume Faughan, poi i poliziotti hanno cercato di aiutarlo. Quando lo hanno tirato fuori dall’acqua aveva già perso conoscenza ed è morto poco dopo.
Il Police Ombusdman è stato avvertito dell’incidente.

Boy drowns after fleeing police in Londonderry
A teenage boy has drowned in Londonderry while fleeing from police.
Police said the boy ran off with another young man when they arrived to investigate reports of a disturbance on the Glenshane Road.
The boy entered the River Faughan and officers tried to help him. He was pulled from the river in an unconscious state and died a short time later.
A police spokeswoman said the Police Ombudsman had been informed.
