Giovani ‘incoraggiati ad attaccare la marcia’

I dissidenti repubblicani sono stati indicati responsabili dei lievi incidenti occorsi ad una marcia orangista a North Belfast

Una piccola quantità di oggetti sono stati lanciati quando la parata del Tourh of the North ha attraversato la zona di Ardoyne venerdì sera.

Gerry Kelly, parlamentare dello Sinn Fein, ha detto che i dissidenti hanno cercato di incoraggiare i giovani a causare disordini.

“Alcuni ragazzi sono venuti da me e mi hanno riferito di persone che gli chiedevano di andare a bloccare la parata, attaccando gli orangisti”, ha detto.

“E’ interessante che questi ragazzi si siano fatti avanti e mi abbiano riferito di non volerlo fare. Penso sia un grande segno di maturità.

“Dimostra anche l’atteggiamento dei residenti di Ardoyne: non vogliono la parata ma non sono pronti a mettere i loro giovani in prima linea”.

Un uomo è stato trasportato in ospedale con una ferita alla testa.

Kids ‘encouraged to attack march’

Dissident republicans have been blamed by Sinn Fein for minor disturbances at an Orange march in north Belfast.

A small number of objects were thrown as the Tour of the North parade passed by the Ardoyne area on Friday night.

Sinn Fein assembly member Gerry Kelly said dissidents had tried to encourage children to cause trouble.

“Young people came over to me and told me there were certain people asking them to go out and block the parade and attack the Orangemen,” he said.

“It is interesting that the young people came to me and said they did not want to do this – I think this is a great sign of maturity.

“It also shows where the Ardoyne residents are on this issue – they don’t want the parade but they’re not prepared to put young people in the firing line.”

One man was taken to hospital with a head injury.
