Il leader lealista Mark Harbinson è stato condannato per le fotografie indecenti di una studentessa di 13 anni in topless, sul suo telefono cellulare
La giuria lo ha trovato non colpevole di aggressione indecente contro uno scolaro di 12 anni durante una festa avvenuta nel mese di febbraio 2007.
Devono ancora annunciare un verdetto su un’altra accusa di aggressione indecente nei confronti di una ragazza di 14 anni avvenuta alla stessa festa.
Non sono state emesse le sentenze su altri sette reati di attività sessuale con una studentessa di 13 anni.
Reggiseno nero
Harbinson aveva detto che pensava di aver eliminato le fotografie non richieste.
Tuttavia, durante il suo processo di cinque settimane al Craigavon Crown Court la polizia ha annunciato di aver trovato le immagini su una cartella del suo cellulare, e di aver recuperato anche una foto della ragazza in reggiseno nero e top bianco proveniente da un altro cellulare.
La giuria, composta da sette donne e cinque uomini, ha impiegato tre ore e 15 minuti per emettere il verdetto unanime di colpevolezza per queste due accuse.
Tuttavia, la giuria all’unanimità ha assolto Harbinson da due accuse di “attività sessuale” con la tredicenne, tra luglio e settembre 2009.
Il giudice Desmond Marrinan alla fine del dibattimento ha detto alla giuria che poteva accettare verdetti maggioranza nel caso in cui almeno 10 di loro fossero d’accordo, ma solo se non era possibile arrivare ad un verdetto unanime.

Harbinson guilty on topless schoolgirl pics charge
Leading loyalist Mark Harbinson has been convicted of having indecent topless photographs of a 13-year-old schoolgirl on his mobile phone.
The jury found him not guilty of indecently assaulting a 12-year-old schoolboy at a party in February 2007.
They have yet to announce a verdict on another charge of indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl at the same party.
They have also not reached any verdicts on seven other charges of sexual activity with a 13-year-old schoolgirl.

Harbinson had said he thought he had deleted the unsolicited photographs.
However, his five-week trial at Craigavon Crown Court heard that police later found the pictures on a folder on his mobile, and that they also a picture of the girl in a black bra and white top recovered from another mobile.
It had taken the jury of seven women and five men three hours and 15 minutes to come to their unanimous guilty verdicts on those two charges.
However, the jury unanimously acquitted Harbinson of two charges of “sexually activity” with the 13-year-old between July and September 2009.
Trial Judge Desmond Marrinan told the jury the stage had now been reached when he could accept majority verdicts in the case where at least 10 of their number agree, but only if they cannot come to a unanimous verdict.
The case resumes on Monday.
