Il gruppo di giudici, che deve esaminare le circostanze della uccisione del leader lealista Billy Wright all’interno della Prigione di Maze, ha completato la ua relazione.
Il governo ha annunciato che un guppo di funzionari inizierà ad esaminare il rapporto sull’omicidio del 1997.
Lo scopo è di garantire di non mettere in pericolo la vita di chi ha testimoniato nell’Indagine, prima di rendere pubblici i risultati.
Billy Wright fu ucciso dall’INLA all’interno del carcere di Maze nel dicembre 1997.
Il Segretario di Stato Owen Paterson ha rivelato che Il rapporto del Gruppo di Indagine era stato completato e adesso veniva controllato da gruppo di funzionari governativi e consulenti legali.
“Ho bisogno di adottare misure per soddisfare me stesso che la pubblicazione della relazione non viola l’articolo 2 della convenzione (sui Diritti Umani), mettendo a repentaglio la vita o la sicurezza delle persone”, ha Detto.
“Ho anche il dovere di soddisfare me stesso riguardo la pubblicazione affinché non metta a rischio la Sicurezza Nazionale, come ad esempio la divulgazione di particolari fonti di Informazioni riservate”.
Tra coloro che possono osservare il rapporto ci sono rappresentanti del Ministero della Difesa, del Servizio di Sicurezza e la Polizia.
Il rapporto della Billy Wright Inquiry dovrebbe essere pronto per la pubblicazione entro pochi mesi.

Government to receive Billy Wright report
The panel examining the circumstances surrounding the murder of loyalist leader Billy Wright inside the Maze prison has completed its report.
The government has announced that a team of officials will begin examining the report into the 1997 murder.
They said this was to ensure it did not endanger the lives of anyone who gave evidence to the inquiry, before the findings could be made public.
Billy Wright was shot dead by the INLA inside the Maze prison in December 1997.
Secretary of State Owen Paterson revealed that the report by the inquiry panel had been completed and was now being checked by a team of government officials and legal advisors.
“I need to take steps to satisfy myself that the publication of the report will not breach Article 2 of the Convention (of Human Rights) by putting the lives or safety of individuals at risk,” he said.
“I also have a duty to satisfy myself that publication will not put national security at risk, for example by disclosing details of sources of confidential information.”
Those checking the report include representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Security Service, and the police.
It is expected to be ready for publication within a few months.
