Il killer lealistaTorrens Knight è stato rilasciato dalla prigione

Knight, omicida di massa, fu inviato nuovamente in prigione per aver aggredito due sorelle a Coleraine e aver subito la sospensione della licenza per il rilascio anticipato.

Nel 1994 Torrens Knight fu incarcerato per 12 omicidi, compresi quelli del massacro di Greysteel, e l’omicidio di 4 lavoratori cattolici a Castlerock.

Knight fu rilasciato nel 2000 su licenza ma è tornato in carcere dopo essere stato trovato colpevole per l’aggressione contro le sorelle Rosemary Sutherland e Carolin McNicholl, nel maggio 2008.

Tuttavia l’uomo è stato rilasciato nuovamente in seguito ad una decisione della Sentence Review Commission.

John Dallat, parlamentare per East Londonderry dello SDLP, ha detto che le vittime non sono state informate del suo rilascio e, secondo lui, a Knight hè stato riservato un trattamento “con i guanti”.

Un portavoce della Commissione ha riferito “di non poter commentare su casi singoli”.

Loyalist killer Torrens Knight released from jail

The loyalist killer Torrens Knight has been released from prison.

Knight, a convicted mass murderer was sent back to jail last year for attacking two sisters in Coleraine and had his early release licence suspended.

In 1994 Torrens Knight was convicted of 12 killings including the Greysteel massacre and the murder of four Catholic workmen in Castlerock.

Knight was released early on licence in 2000 but was returned to prison after being found guilty of attacking sisters Rosemary Sutherland and Caroline McNicholl in May 2008.

However, he was recently released again following a decision by the Sentence Review Commission.

SDLP East Londonderry MLA John Dallat claims the victims were not informed of his release and said Knight has been treated with “kid gloves”.

A spokesman for the Commission said “it doesn’t comment on individual cases.”
