Il repubblicano Gary Donnelly, 39 anni, è stato multato di 450 sterline al Londonderry Magistrates Court per tre reati di ordine pubblico
Il giudice distrettuale, Barney McElholm, ha condannato Donnelly – uno dei Derry Four – per l’aggressione contro un poliziotto, ostruzione ai danni di un poliziotto e comportamento turbolento.
Il giudice ha respinto le altre due accuse di resistenza all’arresto.
Le accuse riguardavano un incidente avvenuto in Foyle Street a Derry il 16 novembre 2007.
Gary Donnelly, di Rinmore Drive, ha subìto una frattura del braccio sinistro in tre parti durante il confronto con i poliziotti.
Nel suo giudizio, McElholm ha detto di essere rimasto sorpreso che, durante l’incidente, nessuno ha raccolto la protesta di Donnelly per il suo braccio seriamente fratturato.
Il giudice ha descritto il comportamento di Donnelly durante quella sera come “petulante”.
Donnelly ha chiesto ai suoi avvocati di presentare ricorso.

Dissident fined over public order
Dissident republican, Gary Donnelly, 39, was fined £450 at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Thursday over three public order offences.
District Judge, Barney McElholm convicted Donnelly of assaulting a police inspector, obstructing a police officer and disorderly behaviour.
The judge dismissed two further charges of resisting arrest.
The convictions relate to an incident at Foyle Street in Derry on 16 November 2007.
Donnelly, from Rinmore Drive in the city, sustained a three-part fracture to his left arm during the confrontation with the police officers.
In his judgment, Mr McElholm said he was surprised that, during the incident, no-one took Mr Donnelly’s protestations that his arm was broken seriously enough.
Mr McElholm described Mr Donnelly’s behaviour on the night as “petulant”.
Mr Donnelly has instructed his solicitors to appeal the convictions.
