La Free Presbyterian Church di Magherafelt è stata attaccata nelle prime ore di domenica

Una vetrata colorata sulla facciata dell’edificio sito in Mullaghboy Hill Road è stata infranta da mani ignote.

La denuncia dell’attacco è stata fatta alle 11:50 di domenica mattina.

Il consigliere SDLP di Magherafelt, Jim Campbell, parla dei responsabili come di “vandali senza cervello”.

Afferma il politico: “Attaccare un luogo di culto è un atto disdicevole, che intende solo creare tensioni, specialmente in questo momento dell’anno.

“Faccio appello a chiunque sia coinvolto in questo genere di attività di fermarsi e chiedo alla gente di restare calma ed evitare qualsiasi forma di ritorsione”.

Magherafelt Free Presbyterian Church window smashed

A Free Presbyterian church has been attacked in Magherafelt in County Londonderry.

A stained glass window was smashed at the front of the building on the Mullaghboy Hill Road.

The attack was reported at about 1150 BST on Sunday.

SDLP Magherafelt councillor Jim Campbell has referred to those responsible as “mindless vandals”.

He said: “Attacking a place of worship is a disgraceful act aimed purely at creating sectarian tension especially at this time of year.

“I would appeal to anyone involved in this type of activity to stop and urge people to remain calm and refrain from any form of retaliation.”
