Inizia la ricerca di membri indipendenti del Policing Board

Il ministro della Giustizia David Ford ha lanciato il processo di reclutamento per trovare i membri indipendenti del Northern Ireland Policing Board

Nell’organismo di controllo della polizia i membri cambiano ogni quattro anni. La composzione del Board comprende 9 membri indipendenti e 10 espressione dei partiti politici dell’Assemblea.

Giovedì sono apparsi sulla stampa gli annunci per la ricerca dei nuovi membri indipendenti.

Lanciando il reclutamento, il ministro della Giustizia David Ford ha affermato: “Stiamo cercando le posizioni all’interno del Northern Ireland Policing Board e chi sarà selezionato avrà un ruolo fondamentale da giocare durante il periodo in carica.

“Con l’attuale Consiglio il sostegno per il sistema di polizia è aumentato in tutte le sezioni della comunità ed è importante che continui”, prosegue Ford.

“Il membri indipendenti saranno fondamentali per mantenere ed accrescere il livello del sostegno.

“Questo è un periodo di sfida ed opportunità per la PSNI. Il Board ed io vogliamo incoraggiare chiunque abbia a cuore la questione polizia e chi ritiene di poter dare un contributo positivo a fare domanda per il posto”.

Il termine ultimo per le domande è fissato per le 12 di venerdì 4 marzo 2011.

Search on for independent policing board members

Justice Minister David Ford has launched a recruitment process to find independent members for the Northern Ireland Policing Board.

Board members change every four years and are made up of nine independent members and 10 political members reflective of Assembly party strength.

The board is responsible for securing the maintenance of the PSNI and holds the Chief Constable to account.

Advertisements for the roles will appear in Thursday’s press.

Launching the competition, Justice Minister, David Ford said: “These are demanding positions within the Northern Ireland Policing Board and those appointed will have a fundamental role to play during their tenure.

“Under the current board support for policing from all sections of the community has increased and it is important that this continues,” Mr Ford said.

“The independent members will be crucial to maintaining and building on that level of support.

“This is a time of both challenge and opportunity for the PSNI and the board and I would encourage anyone who has an interest in policing and who believes that they can make a positive contribution to apply.”

The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 4 March 2011.
