L’allenatore del Celtic Glasgow, Neil Lennon, è stato nuovamente preso di mira con una finta bomba.
Il falso ordigno è stato intercettato dai lavoratori postali durante il fine settimana. Si tratta della terza minaccia fatta al manager del Celtic negli ultimi mesi.
Nel mese di gennaio, pacchi contenenti proiettili indirizzati a Lennon e al calciatore Niall McGinn sono stati intercettati dai lavoratori postali a Mallusk.
Il pacco più recente, che avrebbe contenuto una bottiglia piena di chiodi, è stato notato dal personale alla chiusura dell’ufficio di consegna Kirkintilloch vicino ai campi di allenamento del Celtic a Lennoxtown.
Una portavoce della polizia ha dichiarato: “Il pacchetto è stato esaminato e l’incidente viene trattato come un finto allarme”.
Una portavoce della Royal Mail ha dichiarato: “Possiamo confermare che un pacco sospetto è stato trovato presso la sede di consegna di Kirkintilloch.
“Le comuni procedure di sicurezza sono state seguite ed è stata chiamata la polizia”.
Tre settimane fa il personale postale è stato evacuato per due ore da un ufficio di smistamento in Saltcoats, Aryshire, quando gli artificieri sono stati chiamati ad esaminare l’ultimo pacco sospetto inviato a Lennon, nordirlandese di Lurgan.
Neil Lennon, 39 anni, ha dovuto aumentare la sua sicurezza personale sulla scia delle minacce.
Ha installato un pulsante di allarme nella sua casa dopo aver ricevuto una telefonata minacciosa nel bel mezzo della notte e viene accompagnato agli allenamenti del club da una guardia del corpo.
L’agente di Lennon, Martin Reilly, ha recentemente dichiarato che l’allenatore del Celtic non avrebbe lasciato la sua posizione, nonostante le continue minacce contro di lui.
“Era un vincente come giocatore ed è un vincente come manager”, ha detto recentemente Reilly in un’intervista radiofonica.
“Lasciare il ruolo di manager del Celtic non è nella natura di Neil,” ha affermato l’agente di Lennon.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been targeted with a fake nail bomb.
The terror hoax, which was intercepted by mail workers at the weekend, is the third threat made to the Celtic manager in recent months.
In January, packages containing bullets addressed to Lennon and player Niall McGinn were intercepted by postal workers in Mallusk.
The most recent parcel, which is understood to have contained a bottle filled with nails, was spotted by staff at Kirkintilloch delivery office close to Celtic’s Lennoxtown training ground.
A police spokeswoman said: “The package was examined and the incident is being treated as a hoax.”
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a suspicious package was found at Kirkintilloch delivery office.
“The usual security procedures were followed and police were called.”
Three weeks ago, mail staff were evacuated from a sorting office in Saltcoats, Aryshire, for two hours when explosives experts were called in to examine the last suspicious package sent to Lurgan-born Lennon.
The 39-year-old has had to increase his personal security in the wake of the threats.
He has had a panic button installed at his home after receiving a threatening call in the middle of the night and is accompanied to club training sessions by a security guard.
Mr Lennon’s agent Martin Reilly said recently that the Celtic boss would not quit his position despite the constant threats made against him.
“He was a winner as a player and he’s a winner as a manager,” Reilly said recently in a radio interview.
“As far as quitting as Celtic’s manager goes, it’s not in Neil’s nature,” he said.
