Dopo la ricostituzione dell’IRA avvenuta nel 2012, è stato reso chiaro che una sola organizzazione era emersa, senza collegamenti a qualsiasi gruppo o partito politico preesistente. L’IRA ha successivamente scelto un organismo che ha la responsabilità di rappresentare i nostri compagni incarcerati. I nostri volontari, le famiglie dei prigionieri e il supporto di base sono pienamente consapevoli di ciò e si identificano con questa organizzazione e con il prezioso lavoro che fanno. Loro e solo loro agiscono a nome dei nostri prigionieri politici.
Nel recente passato diversi individui e gruppi “politici” hanno cercato di creare l’illusione che essi o il loro gruppo parlano per i prigionieri dell’IRA e che siano in qualche modo allineate all’esercito repubblicano. Hanno cercato di utilizzare le azioni dell’IRA e le lotte in corso portate avanti dai nostri prigionieri nell’esclusivo tentativo di innalzarsi all’interno della comunità repubblicana. Questi soggetti sono stati anche coinvolti in attività spurie nelle campagne a favore dei prigionieri, che hanno pregiudicato l’interessa dei prigionieri in questione.
Questo ha portato adesso alla decisione dell’IRA di castigarli pubblicamente per le loro azioni. Ci occuperemo di queste persone a tempo debito.
Le persone facenti parte di qualsiasi gruppo che vogliono continuare a offrire genuino supporto e assistenza all’organismo designato ad occuparsi dei nostri prigionieri sono invitati a farlo come singoli attivisti, nel pieno rispetto delle strutture esistenti.
Cogliamo inoltre l’occasione per ringraziare pubblicamente tutti coloro che svolgono il difficile compito di sostenere i prigionieri dell’IRA nell’attuale contesto politico. Lo fanno in modo dignitoso e determinato, in patria e all’estero, e noi ringraziamo il loro impegno nella più ampia lotta repubblicana.
Per concludere, l’IRA non tollererà il falso utilizzo del nostro nome, o dei nostri prigionieri, da parte di alcun partito o gruppo per promuovere la propria agenda.
Questa dichiarazione, sostenuta dai nostri prigionieri, illustra con la massima chiarezza alla base repubblicana come andare avanti insieme nella lotta.

IRA Statement, 13rd March 2015
Following the re-constitution of the IRA in 2012, it was made abundantly clear that one single organisation had emerged with no links to any pre-existing political party or grouping. The IRA subsequently sanctioned one body which has responsibility for representing our imprisoned comrades. Our volunteers, prisoners families and support base are fully aware of, and identify with, this body and the valuable work they do. They and they alone , act on behalf of our political prisoners.
In the recent past several individuals and “political” groupings have attempted to create the illusion that they or their grouping speak for the IRA prisoners and that they are someway aligned to the army. They have sought both on an individual and party/grouping basis to use the actions of the IRA and the on going struggles that our prisoners endure in an attempt to elevate themselves within the Republican community. They have also been involved in spurious activities from within the prisoner campaigns, that have been detrimental to the interest of the prisoners concerned.
This has now led to the IRA publicly castigating them for their actions. We shall deal with these individuals in due course.
Those individuals within any grouping who may wish to continue to offer genuine support and assistance to our designated prisoner body are welcome to do so as individual activists; fully complying with its structures.
We also take this opportunity to publicly thank all those who carry out the difficult job of supporting the IRA prisoners in the present political context. They do so in a dignified and determined fashion, at home and abroad, we salute their commitment to the wider Republican struggle.
To conclude, the IRA will not tolerate any party or group falsely using our name, or our prisoners, to further their own agenda.
This statement, supported by and fully informed by the demands of our prisoners, provides the utmost clarity for all the Republican base as we move forward together in struggle.
