L’ordigno artigianale è stato scoperto ad Ardoyne, North Belfast
La polizia ritiene che chi ha lasciato la bomba aveva “in mente di compiere un oicidio”.
Norman Haslett, Temporary Chief Inspector, ha affermato: “Ritengo che l’obiettivo fossero i poliziotti che lavorano nella comunità.
“Comunque, lasciare una granata artigianale (blast bomb) nel cuore di una zona residenziale molto vivace serve da esempio del poco rispetto che queste persone hanno per la sicurezza delle famiglie della zona.
“Se un ragazzino fosse inavvertitamente venuto a contatto con questo ordigno, le conseguenze sarebbero state inimmaginabili”,
La zona è stata riaperta alla popolazione.
Nel frattempo è terminato anche l’allarme sicurezza lanciato a Derry.
Alcune case sono state evacuate nella zona di Baldrick Crescent.
L’oggetto sospetto è stato dichiarato dalla polizia un finto ordigno molto elaborato.

Police target of city blast bomb
A blast bomb has been discovered in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast, a police spokesperson said.
Police believe those responsible for planting the bomb had “murder in mind.”
Temporary Chief Inspector Norman Haslett said: “It is my belief that the police officers who serve the community were to be the intended targets.
“However, to leave a blast bomb in the heart of such a busy residential area serves as an example of the reckless disregard these people have for the welfare and safety of local families.
“Had a local child inadvertently stumbled across this device the consequences are unthinkable”.
The area has now re-opened.
Meanwhile, a security alert in Londonderry has now ended.
A number of homes were evacuated during the incident in Baldrick Crescent.
It has been declared an elaborate hoax, a police spokesperson said.
