La PSNI spara a Carrowdore

Alcuni colpi di arma da fuoco sono stati esplosi dalla polizia durante disordini nella cittadina di Carrowdore, Contea di Down

La PSNI ha riferito che gli agenti sono stati chiamati per disordini scoppiati lungo New Road, poco dopo mezzogiorno di martedì.

Grosse pietre sono state lanciate contro la polizia.

Quattro uomini sono stati fermati. Il Police Ombudsman ha avviato l’inchiesta, come avviene ogni qualvolta la polizia ricorre all’utilizzo delle armi.

Jonathan Bell, consigliere e parlamentare a Stormont al posto di Iris Robinson, parla di un incidente che ha traumatizzato “una comunità tranquilla”.

“Ho parlato con funzionari della polizia e sono soddisfatto sia della completa ed adeguata indagine che verrà compiuta sulla questione che dell’intervento dell’Ufficio del Police Ombudsman alle investigazioni”, ha detto.

Police fire shots during disturbance

Several shots have been fired by police in the Co Down village of Carrowdore.

The PSNI said officers were called to a disturbance on the New Road shortly after midday on Tuesday.

Boulders were thrown at police during the incident.

Four men have been arrested and the Police Ombudsman is now investigating.

DUP Strangford MLA Councillor Jonathan Bell said the incident had caused shock “in what is a quiet community.”

“I have spoken with senior Police and am satisfied that the matter is being fully and appropriately investigated and the Office of the Police Ombudsman has been brought in to play,” he said.
