Liam Adams ha perso l’appello contro la sua estradizione dalla Repubblica d’Irlanda all’Irlanda del Nord, dove dovrà rispondere alle accuse di aver abusato sessualmente della figlia
Il giudice John Edwards ha stabilito che l’imputato non poteva ricorrere contro l’ordinanza dinnanzi alla Corte Suprema, perché gli elementi presentati dal suo avvocato non erano punti di diritto o di eccezionale rilevanza pubblica.
“Il tribunale è arrivato alla decisione: dispone di non certificare alcuno dei punti sollevati come punti di diritto o di eccezionale rilevanza pubblica”, ha aggiunto il giudice.
Liam Adams è stato rinviato in custodia per 15 giorni, quando l’ordine di estradizione avrà effetto e l’uomo sarà consegnato alla PSNI.
Adams ha abbracciato l’altra figlia, Claire Smith, mentre veniva portato via dalle guardie carcerarie.
Il cinquantaseienne di Belfast nega le accuse di abuso presentate da Aine Tyrell, che ha rinunciato al suo diritto all’anonimato.

Liam Adams refused leave to appeal extradition
Liam Adams has lost his legal bid to appeal his extradition from the Republic to NI to answer charges of sexually abusing his daughter.
Mr Justice John Edwards ruled the defendant could not appeal the order to the Supreme Court as his barrister’s arguments had not been points of law or exceptional public importance.
“The court arrived at the decision, it is disposed not to certify any of the points raised as points of law or exceptional public importance,” the judge added.
He remanded Liam Adams in custody for 15 days, when the extradition order will take effect and he will be handed over to the PSNI.
Mr Adams hugged his other daughter, Claire Smith, as he was led away by prison officers.
The 56-year-old denies the abuse allegations made by Aine Tyrell, who has waived her right to anonymity.
