I quattro uomini, tutti di Derry, erano accusati di essere coinvolti nelle attività paramilitari repubblicane.
Giovedì la Corte aveva dichiarato che il loro arresto, avvenuto nella Contea di Donegal nel mese di marzo, è stato illegittimo.
Gli uomini – Gary Donnelly, 38 anni di Kildrun Gardens, Michael Gallagher, 28, di Sackville Court, Patrick John McDaid, 39, di Marlborough Street e Martin Francis O’Neill di Colmcille Court – si erano dichiarati tutti non colpevoli.
Ai tre giudici nel tribunale senza giuria era stato detto che i poliziotti avevano agito in base alle informazioni che prevedevano una dimostrazione di forza (Show of strength) per i mezzi di comunicazione da parte di un gruppo paramilitare.

Derry ‘dissident’ trial collapses
The trial of four men from Londonderry charged with membership of an illegal organisation has collapsed.
The four men were accused of being involved with dissident Republican activity.
On Thursday, the court ruled that their arrest in County Donegal in March was unlawful.
The men – Gary Donnelly, 38. from Kildrum Gardens, Michael Gallagher, 28, from Sackville Court, Patrick John McDaid, 39, from Marlborough Street and Martin Francis O’Neill from Colmcille Court in Derry – had all pleaded not guilty.
The three judge non-jury court had been told that officers acted on information that a paramilitary group was about to put on a show of strength for the media.
