Minor trouble at anti-G8 protest
Minor trouble broke out at the G8 summit in Lough Erne on Monday night as protestors broke through a razor wire outer perimeter fence.
It is understood that police pushed back a small number of demonstrators.
They were taking part in the G8 Not Welcome march from Enniskillen town centre out to the resort’s security boundaries.
A PSNI spokewoman said: “At 6pm, approximately 700 Protestors travelled from the library car park to the outer fence line where, following speeches, they dispersed a short distance back towards Enniskillen where they left in buses.
“Police facilitated the march and it passed off successfully.
“Shortly after 9pm, a number of people breached an outer fence line and moved a short distance past it, however there were no incidents and they have now left the area,” she added.
