La prominente repubblicana è stata trasferita da Maghaberry alla prigione di Hydebank Wood, fuori Belfast
La denuncia è stata “completamente respinta” dal Segretario di Stato Owen Paterson, colui che ha revocato la licenza di Marian Price lo scorso maggio.
Il servizio carcerario ha spiegato a BBC che il trasferimento è stato deciso dopo il consiglio clinico rilasciato dal personale del South Eastern Trust.
E’ stato comunicato che dal suo ritorno in carcere, nove mesi fa, il Prison Service ed il Trust hanno, in diverse occasioni, discusso e rivisto i bisogni della donna mentre si trova in custodia.
Marian Price è stata rimandata in cella lo scorso maggio, dopo aver partecipato ad un raduno repubblicano a Derry. Contro di lei un’0accusa legata all’omicidio di due soldati britannici a Massereene Barracks, da sempre negata dalla repubblicana.
Una forma di internamento
Giovedì sera si è svolto a Derry un incontro dei suoi sostenitori.
L’ex cappellano carcerario Monsignor Raymond Murray ha detto che la decisione di Paterson porta gli echi del passato alle orecchie nazionaliste.
“Questa è una forma di internamento”, spiega Monsignor Murray, cappellano nella prigione di Armagh per quasi 20 anni.
“Sono scioccato che il Segretario di Stato non si renda conto di come la popolazione nazionalista prenda seriamente l’internamento.
“Pensavamo fosse terminato, invece eccolo di nuovo, sotto forma di revoca della licenza.
“Dovrebbe spiegarci il procedimento di legge che riguarda Marian Price.
“In quale modo avrebbe infranto la legge? Lei è stata spinta con la forza in carcere con un pretesto in una maniera ingiusta”.
Proteggere la popolazione
Il Northern Ireland Office ha fatto sapere: “In seguito ad una raccomandazione della Commissione per il RIlascio con la Condizionale, il Segretario di Stato ha revocato la licenza di Marian McGLinchey (il cognome del marito, Ndt) il 15 maggio 2011.
“In accordo con quanto stabilito dall’Ordine sulle Sentenze a Vita del 2011, il Segretario di Stato può revocare una licenza quando si rende necessaria la protezione della popolazione da gravi danni e per prevenire la realizzazione di ulteriori reati.
“Le persone rilasciate con licenza sono obbligate ad agire in base ai termini del rilascio.
“La signora McGlinchey è stata accusata di due reati legati alla Legge Anti Terrorismo (Terrorism Act, Ndt) del 2000, uno dei quali legato gli omicidi di Massereene.
“In queste circostanze, e valutando la necessità di proteggere la popolazione, la licenza della signora McGlinchey è stata revocata. Un comitato indipendente per il rilascio sta adesso valutando il suo caso.
“Il Segretario di Stato rsepinge interamente le accuse che parlano di internamento senza processo.
“Un adeguato procedimento viene seguito tutte le volte: la signora McGLinchey è a conoscenza del caso intentato contro di lei e ha l’opportunità di opporsi, e fornire le adeguate prove, durante le udienze per il rilascio con la condizionale”.

Marian Price moved from Maghaberry to Hydebank
Old Bailey bomber Marian Price has been moved from Maghaberry to the women’s prison at Hydebank outside Belfast.
The claim has been “entirely refuted” by NI Secretary Owen Paterson, who revoked her release licence last May.
The prison service has told the BBC the decision to move Price was taken on clinical advice from healthcare staff at the South Eastern Trust.
It said that since being returned to prison nine months ago the prison service and the trust have, on a number of occasions, discussed and reviewed her needs while in custody.
She was returned to prison last May after appearing at a dissident republican rally in Derry and has since been charged in connection with the murders of two soldiers at Masserene a charge she denies.
‘Form of internment’
A meeting of supporters campaigning for her release was held in Londonderry on Thursday night.
Former prison chaplain Monsignor Raymond Murray said Mr Paterson’s decision had echoes of the past for nationalists.
“This is a form of internment,” said Monsignor Murray, who was prison chaplain in Armagh for almost 20 years.
“I am just shocked that the secretary of state wouldn’t be aware of how seriously nationalist people look on internment.
“We thought it had all ended and here it is coming under a form of revocation, revoking a license.
“He would have to explain to us and explain the process of law as regards Marian Price.
“In any way has she broken the law? That would have to be provided but it is not provided by shoving her into prison on a pretence in an unjust way.”
‘Protection of the public’
However, the Northern Ireland Office said: “Following a recommendation from the independent parole commissioners, the secretary of state revoked Marian McGlinchey’s licence on 15 May 2011.
“In accordance with the provisions of the Life Sentences (Northern Ireland) Order 2011, the secretary of state may revoke a licence where it is necessary for the protection of the public from serious harm and to prevent the commission of further offences.
“Those released on licence have an obligation to act within the terms of their release.
“Mrs McGlinchey has been charged with two offences under the Terrorism Act 2000, one of which is in connection with the Masserene murders.
“In these circumstances, and considering the need to protect the public, Mrs. McGlinchey’s licence was revoked. An independent panel of parole commissioners is now considering her case.
“The secretary of state entirely refutes the allegation that this is internment without trial.
“Due process has been followed at all times: Mrs McGlinchey is aware of the case against her and has an opportunity to challenge it, and submit evidence on her behalf, during the course of the parole hearing.”
