Minacce di morte contro la Commissione Parate

Repubblicani hanno inviato una minaccia contro i membri della Commissione Parate e le loro famiglie, per aver “mostrato disprezzo” per la gente di Ardoyne, dopo aver permesso ad una marcia dell’Orange Order di attraversare il quartiere.

In una lettera mostrata al North Belfast News, il gruppo Óglaigh na hÉireann (ONH) riferisce che chi siede nell’organismo e le loro famiglie sono “obiettivi legittimi”, dopo i disordini che hanno incendiato Ardoyne durante le parat del 12 luglio.

“La Commissione Parate ha il potere di cambiare percorso alle marce ma in questo caso (Ardoyne) gli hanno permesso di marciare attraverso un’area cattolica…” si legge nella dichiarazione.

“Ovviamente la Commissione Parate in tutti questi anni non ha compreso l’avvertimento.

“Hanno tirato eccessivamente la corda, quando è troppo è troppo. Il che ci porta al nostro dilemma, cosa dobbiamo fare. Noi, ONH, non abbiamo altra scelta che proteggere e difendere la popolazione nazionalista…

“Così siamo giunti alla conclusione che la Commissione Parate è preparata a causare queste atrocità contro la nostra gente, e non ci viene data altra scelta che indicare i membri della Commissione Parate e le loro famiglie come obiettivi legittimi”.

Nelle celebrazioni del 12 luglio (le parate si sono svolte lunedì 13 luglio, NdT) la violenza esplose ad Ardoyne in seguito ad una parata dell’Orange Order. Cannoni ad acqua e proiettili di plastica furono usati per interrompere i disordini. Ventuno poliziotti rimasero feriti, mentre i proiettili di plastica colpirono almeno 10 persone, tra cui un ragazzo di 13 anni.

Un portavoce della Commissione ha detto che non verranno rilasciati commenti sull’argomento.

Dissident death threat to Parades Commission

Dissident republicans have issued a threat to members of the Parades Commission and their families claiming they have “shown contempt” for the people of Ardoyne by allowing the Orange Order to parade in the area.

In a letter shown to the North Belfast News this week, dissident group Óglaigh na hÉireann (ONH) said those who sit on the parading body and their families are “legitimate targets”, after the trouble that flared in Ardoyne during the Twelfth parades.

“The Parades Commission has the power to reroute parades but in this [Ardoyne’s] case they would rather let it march through a Catholic area…,” reads the statement.

“Obviously the Parades Commission over these last few years hasn’t taken the warning.

“They have pushed the nationalist people too far, enough is enough. Which brings us to our dilemma, what do we do. We, the ONH, have no choice but to protect and defend the nationalist people…

“So we have come to the conclusion if the Parades Commission is prepared to cause these atrocities on our people, it leaves us with no choice but to put the Parades Commission and their families as legitimate targets.”

On 12 July this year violence erupted in Ardoyne following the Orange Order parade. Water canons and baton rounds were used to break up the trouble and 21 policeman were injured. Around 10 people were hit by rubber bullets, including a 13-year old boy.

A spokesman for the Parades Commission said they do not comment on security issues.
