Il consigliere del DUP a Ballymoney, John Finlay, ha dichiarato: “Questi disordini e questa violenza settaria sono andati avanti abbastanza a lungo e devono finire.
“Mi appello allo Sinn Fein affinché faccia di più quando si verificano questi attacchi.
“Non possiamo lasciare che questo degenereri durate l’estate”, prosegue il politico unionista.
“Credo che questo attacco faccia parte di uno sforzo concertato da parte dei repubblicani contro la comunità protestante in Rasharkin.
“Molti di questi residenti protestanti vivono nella paura della violenza e di attacchi da parte di elementi repubblicani. Questo non può continuare”.
In un altro incidente, una bottiglia molotov è stata lanciata contro una Orange Hall a Glarryford, nella contea di Antrim.
Segni di bruciatura sui muri della Hall in Duneany Road sono stati scoperti nella mattinata di martedì.

Orange halls hit with petrol bomb
A petrol bomb has been thrown at an Orange hall in Rasharkin sometime between Monday night and Tuesday.
Ballymoney DUP councillor John Finlay said: “This sectarian violence and trouble has gone on long enough and it must end.
“I call upon Sinn Fein to do more and step up when it comes to these attacks.
“We cannot let this escalate into the summer months,” he said.
“I view this attack as part of a concerted effort on the part of Republicans against the Protestant community in Rasharkin.
“Many of these Protestant residents live in fear of violence and attacks from Republican elements. This cannot continue.”
In a separate incident, a petrol bomb was thrown at an Orange Hall in Glarryford, County Antrim.
Scorch damage to the wall of the hall at Duneany Road was discovered on Tuesday morning.
