Molotov contro PSNI a Ballyclare

La polizia è stata attaccata con mattoni e bottiglie incendiarie a Ballyclare, mentre svolgevano un’operazione antidroga

I poliziotti sono finiti sotto l’attacco di una folla di giovani nella zona di Grahamstown Park mentre, nel pomeriggio, stavano svolgendo le loro perquisizioni.

Una barricata improvvisata è stata eretta per breve tempo in Thornhill Drive durante i disordini.

Si è appreso che un certo numero di bambini è stato trasferito di fretta da un asilo presente nella zona per il timore per la loro sicurezza.

Non ci sono voci di danneggiamenti e di ferimenti.

Un uomo di 31 anni, che è stato arrestato dagli agenti, è stato in seguito accusato di possesso di droga con finalità di spaccio.

Dovrebbe comparire in aula presso la Belfast Magistrates Court nel mese di marzo.

Sono stati portati via alcuni oggetti per ulteriori esami.

Le accuse saranno analizzate dal Public Prosecution Service (il Pubblico Ministero).

Petrol bombs thrown at PSNI

Police have been attacked with petrol bombs and bricks in Ballyclare as they carried out a planned drugs raid on a property in the Co Antrim town.

Officers came under attack from a crowd of youths in the Grahamstown Park area of the town as they carried out their search on Thursday afternoon.

A makeshift barricade was briefly put in place at Thornhill Drive during the trouble.

It is understood a number of children were evacuated from a nearby nursery school over concerns for their safety.

There are no reports of any injury or damage. Officers have now left the scene.

A 31-year-old man, who was arrested, was later charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

He is to expected appear before Belfast Magistrates Court in March.

A number of items were removed for further examination, a police spokesman said.

The charges are subject to be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
