Un uomo di 33 anni è stato accusato dopo che una bottiglia incendiaria è stata lanciata in un pub del centro di Belfast durante il fine settimana
L’uomo è accusato di alcuni reati, compresa aggressione, danneggiamento, fabbricazione e lancio di molotov.
Le accuse sono relative ad un attacco avvenuto sabato sera presso il Kelly’s Cellars nella zona centrale di Bank Street.
L’uomo comparirà in tribunale a Belfast venerdì 23 agosto.
L’attacco è avvenuto alle 20 circa. La molotov non è riuscita ad incendiarsi sebbene si fosse infranta nel bar.
A inizio serata un uomo era stato allontanato dal locale da un membro del personale perché l’abbigliamento non era in linea con quanto stabilito.
Il manager del bar Kieran Upritchard ha spiegato che dopo il lancio nel pub c’era aria di sommossa.
Tuttavia la calma è stata prontamente ristabilita.
“Dopo l’arresto del giovane siamo andati avanti come al solito”, ha spiegato Upritchard.
“Per fortuna nessuno è rimasto ferito”.
Mentre la polizia stava gestendo l’accaduto, un trentaduenne è stato arrestato presso il pub per il sospetto di aver intralciato la polizia.
L’uomo stato rilasciato ma un fascicolo è stato passato al Public Prosecution Service.

PETROL BOMB THROWN INTO CROWDED BELFAST CITY BAR
A 33-year-old man has been charged after a petrol bomb was thrown at a Belfast city centre pub at the weekend.
The man is accused of several offences including common assault, criminal damage, making a petrol bomb and throwing a petrol bomb.
The charges relate to an incident on Saturday evening at Kelly’s Cellars in the Bank Street area.
He will appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Friday 23 August.
The incident happened around 8 pm but the deadly device failed to ignite although it shattered across the bar.
Earlier in the evening, a man had been asked to leave the bar by staff because he was in breach of the bar’s dress code.
Bar manager Kieran Upritchard said there was a commotion in the bar after the device was thrown.
However, he said calm was quickly restored.
“After the guy was arrested it was business as usual,” said the bar manager.
“Thankfully nobody was injured.”
While police were dealing with the incident, a 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of obstructing police.
He was later released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
