Molotov contro ufficio Alliance Party a East Belfast
Alliance Party office petrol bombed
An office of the Alliance Party in east Belfast has been targeted in a petrol bomb attack.
It happened on the Upper Newtownards Road at around 11pm on Tuesday.
Three petrol bombs were thrown at the building, causing scorch damage.
Two males were seen running away from the scene.
Police and the Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.
Local MP Naomi Long said damage was “mainly superficial though (the) intent is clear”.
The Alliance representative added: “If there are people out there who still believe that fire bombs or other attacks will drive me out, they are wrong”.
First Minister Peter Robinson said he condemned “without reservation” what he described as a “senseless attack”.
“No cause (was) ever advanced by such criminality,” the DUP leader added.
