Kevin McAlorum, 31 anni, fu ucciso nel 2004.
Viene ritenuto un omicidio per vendetta, compiuto da membri dell’INLA come ritorsione per la morte del leader Gino Gallagher.
Nel corso dell’udienza di ieri il legale che rappresenta la famiglia McAlorum ha affermato che le loro preoccupazioni per il coinvolgimento dello Stato nell’omicidio devono ancora essere analizzate adeguatamente.
L’inchiesta precedente era stata aggiornata dopo le preoccupazioni espresse dalla famiglia sul medico legale Brian Sherrard.
La famiglia ha presentato un esposto al Police Ombudsman sull’omicidio di McAlorum perché sentiva non fosse appropriato tenere un’inchiesta fino a quando l’investigazione sulla collusione non veniva completata.
Hearing fails to set date for INLA feud inquest
Kevin McAlorum (31) was killed in a gangland-style shooting in 2004.
It was widely believed to be a revenge killing, carried out by disgruntled INLA members in retaliation for the murder of leader Gino Gallagher.
Yesterday a preliminary hearing to arrange the details of the inquest failed to set a date.
A solicitor representing the family of Mr McAlorum said their concerns over State involvement in the murder had yet to be dealt with satisfactorily.
A previous inquest was adjourned after the family raised their concerns with coroner Brian Sherrard.
The family have referred Mr McAlorum’s murder to the Police Ombudsman, as they did not feel it would be appropriate to hold an inquest until that investigation was complete.
