Il gruppo di pressione repubblicani, éirígí, ha detto di non aver in programma una protesta per la parata di Antrim, in onore dei due soldati morti a Massereene Barracks
“Diversamente da quanto riportato da articoli errati dei mezzi di comunicazione, éirígí non ha alcun progetto di protestare alla parata militare britannica di sabato 3 ottobre ad Antrim – un fatto che sarebbe potuto essere scoperto dai responsabili di quelle voci se avessere compiuto delle semplici ricerche”.
Il livello di sicurezza serà incrementato il prossimo fine settimana, quando le truppe del 38° Reggimento Genieri attraverserà Antrim, dopo il ritorno dall’Afghanistan.
I genieri Patrick Azimkar e Mark Quinsey vennero colpiti mentre ritiravano delle pizze all’esterno della base militare a marzo, il giorno prima di partire per la zona di guerra afghana.
Due uomini (Colin Duffy e Brian Shiverns, Ndt) sono stati incarcerati per la morte dei soldati.

No protest planned by dissident group
Dissident republican pressure group, éirígí, have said it has no plans to protest at a parade in Antrim for the colleagues of two soldiers murdered at Massereene barracks.
“Contrary to a number of erroneous media reports éirígí has no plans to protest at the British military parade in Antrim on Saturday October 3rd – a fact which could have been readily established by those responsible for these reports, had they chosen to conduct even the most basic of research.”
Security will be tight next weekend as troops from 38 Engineer Regiment march through the town on their return from Afghanistan.
Sappers Patrick Azimkar and Mark Quinsey were shot dead as they collected a pizza delivery outside the base in March, the day before they were due to travel to the war zone.
Two men have been charged in connection with the killings.
