A Newtownabbey una donna poliziotto è stata colpita alla nuca da un mattone
Quando gli ufficiali sono arrivati, un certo numero di giovani si è allontanatoi e l’ufficiale donna è stata colpita dal mattone gettato dalla zona del viadotto. Le sue ferite non sono ritenute pericolose per la vita.
Il Comandante dell’Area, Ispettore Capo Paula Hilman, ha detto: “Gli agenti di quartiere hanno lavorato instancabilmente con la comunità locale e con le nostre agenzie collegate per affrontare i problemi e le preoccupazioni della zona.
“Oggi hanno risposto ad una chiamata della comunità e un’agente è stata ferita mentre cercava di risolvere la situazione.
“Questo è inaccettabile”.
L’Ispettore Capo Hilman ha chiesto a chiunque abbia informazioni di contattare la polizia.
“Vorrei anche chiedere il sostegno continuo della comunità per la lotta contro questo tipo di comportamento e di contribuire a risolvere il comportamento antisociale”, ha aggiunto.

Female PSNI officer injured by brick
A female police officer has been injured after being hit on the back of the head with a brick in Newtownabbey.
When officers attended, a number of youths made off and the female officer was struck by the brick which was thrown from the area of the viaduct. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Area Commander Chief Inspector Paula Hilman said: “Neighbourhood officers have been working with the local community and our partner agencies tirelessly to tackle issues and concerns in the area.
“Today they responded to a report from the local community and an officer has been hurt as she tried to resolve the situation.
“This is unacceptable.”
Chief Insp Hilman asked anyone with information to contact police.
“I would also ask for the continued support of the community in tackling this type of behaviour and helping us address antisocial behaviour,” she added.
