Il veicolo, identificato dalla polizia, ha percorso le zone di O’Neill Road e Church Road a Newtownabbey
È stato lanciato un allarme dopo che la polizia ha ricevuto una denuncia per un ordigno piazzato sotto ad un veicolo a Newtownabbey.
Lunedì 5 dicembre gli agenti PSNI hanno ottenuto un rapporto non confermato che un ordigno esplosivo poteva essere stato posizionato nella parte inferiore di un veicolo.
La polizia ha avvisato la popolazione di toccare o cercare di rimuovere qualsiasi oggetto sospetto.
Il veicolo in questione non apparterrebbe né a poliziotti né a soldati.
L’Ispettore Capo Alan Hutton ha affermato: “La polizia di Newtownabbey chiede informazioni dopo che un rapporto non confermato è stato ricevuto oggi, lunedì 5 dicembre, nel quale si spiega che una bomba potrebbe essere stata messa sotto ad un veicolo.
“Si ritiene che questo veicolo, identificato dalla polizia, abbia percorso le aree di O’Neill Road e Church Road a Newtownabbey.
“Faccio appello a tutti: se trovate un oggetto sospetto non toccatelo. Contattate immediatamente la polizia.
“Al momento non sono disponibili ulteriori dettagli” ha concluso l’Ispettore Hutton.

A warning has been issued after police received a report a device was placed under a vehicle in Newtownabbey .
Officers got an unconfirmed report on Monday, December 5, that a device may have been placed under a vehicle.
Police are warning the public not to touch or approach any suspicious objects.
It is not believed the vehicle belonged to anyone in the police or military.
Chief Inspector Alan Hutton said: “Police in Newtownabbey are appealing for information after an unconfirmed report was received today, Monday, 5 December, that a device may have been placed under a vehicle.
“It is believed the vehicle, which has been identified by Police, has travelled along the O’Neill Road and Church Road areas of Newtownabbey.
“I would appeal to anyone if they come across any suspicious object not to touch or approach it. They should contact police immediately.
“There are no further details at this stage.”
