Parades working group announced
The DUP and Sinn Fein have revealed who will sit on the parades working group which was set up as part of the Hillsborough Agreement on policing and justice.
The working group comprised of six members will be set up immediately to deal with contentious parades.
Nelson McCausland, Jeffrey Donaldson and Stephen Moutray will represent the DUP.
Sinn Fein will be represented by John O’Dowd, Gerry Kelly and Michelle Gildernew.
The group is to report back to the First and Deputy First Ministers in three weeks about agreed solutions to the parades issue.
Following the completion of a consultation process a bill will be finalised.
The First Minister and Deputy First Minister have said that they will support all necessary steps in the Assembly to ensure that the bill completes all stages before the end of 2010.
The current adjudication method of the Parades Commission will continue until the new arrangements are in place.
