Uomini armati a volto coperto sono stati fotografati mentre minacciano gli spacciatori di droga della zona
Due uomini con in mano una pistola sono stati fotografati a Carlisle Parade a New Lodge nella sera di lunedì.
Gli uomini armati stavano davanti al muro di una fila di case a schiera su cui era stato scritto un graffito che recitava: “Action Against Drugs (Azione contro le droghe, Ndt), spareremo agli spacciatori di droga”.
L’attivista Raymond McCord ha detto a Utv: “Ero fuori per strada. Uno di loro è venuto da me e mi ha detto di scattargli delle fotografie.
“È stata un’esperienza spaventosa. C’erano una dozzina di uomini a volto coperto e molti di loro impugnavano una pistola”.
Raymond McCord ritiene che il gruppo “Action Against Drugs” sia composto da paramilitari repubblicani.
“Nelle aree nazionaliste c’è un grosso problema di droga. Alcuni ritengono questo sia l’unico modo per affrontare i problemi di droga: sparano agli spacciatori di droga o ai loro accoliti.
“Dicono che la gente in questa zona vende droga. Loro sanno di chi si tratta e intendono sparargli”.

Gunmen issue drug dealer threat
Masked gunmen in north Belfast have been pictured issuing a death threat to drug dealers in the area
Two men brandishing guns were pictured at Carlisle Parade in the New Lodge on Monday night.
They were standing at a gable wall which had graffiti daubed on it stating: “Action against drugs, drug dealers will be shot”.
Victims’ campaigner Raymond McCord told UTV: “I was out on the street. One of them came over to me and told me to shoot it – to take photographs of it.
“It was a frightening experience when you see a dozen or so hooded men and several of them carrying handguns.”
Mr McCord said that he believed the group behind the threat ‘Action Against Drugs’ are Republican paramilitaries.
“In the Nationalist areas, there’s a major drugs problem. Some people see this as a way of dealing with the drugs problem – they shoot the drug dealers or people associated with them.
“They say people in this area are selling drugs – they know who they are and they intend to shoot them.”
The PSNI have been asked for a comment.
